The Iron Lady and her refereeing whistle
Watching the movie The Iron Lady, I noticed a refereeing whistle on the passenger seat of Margaret Thatcher’s car.
Why is she having a referee whistle there? It surprised me and it’s still a mystery to me.

Jan, I know this. Her husband Denis Thatcher used to be a rugby referee. I guess, like my dad, he had whistles lying all over the place.
