Sulley Muntari steals yellow card from referee Antonio Damato and shows it to Mario Balotelli, the AC Milan player who took off his shirt after scoring the 1-0 against FC Turin in the 85th of the match.
Referee Antonio Damato, who is a referee in Uefa’s First Group on the international referee list, got a smile on his face after Muntari’s joke. He orders his yellow back and then officially books Mario Balotelli for taking off his shirt after scoring a goal.
Check out the video. It all goes very fast. Muntari very smoothly took the card from Antonio Damato and walked away with it. You can’t see the booking by Muntari – the camera man was clearly not following it properly – but it’s clear from the video what he did.
I love this football humour and I would not be bothered if a players steals my card and gives it back right after such a joke. Would you book him?
UPDATE: Also Danish player steals yellow card
I got a reply on Facebook that such a situation also happened in Denmark.
Here’s the video and if you can’t see it, here’s a photo of incident where player steals yellow card. As you can see the player (number 22) has the card still in his hands when referee Kenn Hansen books a player. Do you always have a spare set of cards with you?
