Kevin Blom appointed for Egyptian top match
Kevin Blom has been appointed for the Egyptian top clash between numbers one and two Al Ahly and Zamalek, the Dutch FA confirmed. The match started today at eight pm.
Nicky Siebert and Patrick Langkamp will be the assistant referees. It’s the first time a Dutch referee team will officiate in the Egyptian competition.
Maybe this video below, which I just found yesterday on YouTubee, is the reason why the Egyptian FA wants foreign referees.
Update: Kevin Blom’s reaction after the match to Dutch radio 1: “It was a fantactic match, which ended in 2-2. A real match which contains everything: with fireworks, torches. I can’t describe it, I’ve never experienced someting like that.”
“Everything went well at the stands too, but the fans are very fanatic. After the match we had to leave the pitch very fast, because it was very hectic. Very exciting though, the emotions run high.”
“Early in the morning we got the message that the match would be cancelled, because of the agitated situation on Tahrir square. But we continued whit the preparation for the match, because we heard there was still a chance the match might start. Later that day, people from the Ministry of Internal Affairs decide the game should go on. I’ve never experienced this. For me it was El Classico times ten.”

Blom should be ashamed at the way he let two czech players away with dirty fouls in the first half of the scotland-czech game. He picked on Scottish players all the way. Please do not come back to Scotland you will not be misssed!!!!Stay in Holland-no doubt they can make use of your biased judgement

In Scotland V Czeck republic Blom starts his decline by booking Scotland’s #9 Kenny Miller for an ‘imaginary foul’ (his 1st) Then refrains from booking Czech Republic’s Petr Jiráček for a reckless 2nd bookable offense which would should have then produced a Red Card. His grade A blunder then giving Czech Republic a penalty for a challenge that never happened contributes to cost Scotland a place in the EURO 2012 play offs as a 2-1 win would have given Scots a realistic chance. For 1 mistake we forgive for 2 we say “OK maybe he’s inexperienced at this level”. But for several poor decisions we simply don’t accept.
Something must be done about this below par Referee handling big important games for the good of the beautiful game. A huge injustice has been done today and negatively impacted a country already on it’s knees with no Clubs in European Football and not making major international tournaments since 1998.
Kevin Blom is by far the worst referee we have ever seen in an international match.
We simply wouldn’t wish this kind of treatment on others. This referee and his inability to make correct calls has cost a country with huge passion for Football an opportunity to be recognized again as a decent hard working Footballing nation.

this clown is a disgrace and should never referee an international game again
dont know if it was just poor judgement or was he cheating guess we will never know until someone takes a referee to court for costing them loss of revenue
something which im realy thinking of doing

Kevin Blom is a disgrace to referees and does not know what a penalty is, as he showed today at Hampden Park in Glasgow where he awarded a penalty to a clearly diving Czech who was not even touched. Then he refused to award Scotland a penalty when their player was clearly caught by a Czech defender. He is a joke and a disgrace. UEFA should discipline him for his appalling performance.

I would like to hear Kevin Blom explain his decisions during Scotland V Czech Republic. An explanation would be on fair for the Scotland Fans, players and staff who put so much effort and money into the game to be unfairly treated by this huge array of blunders from a Senior official.
mystery referee check
Don’t think thatr UEFA will award him any more Scotland matches somehow….

Kevin Blom is the worst referee I have seen so far in my life. I have seen him in international games and in club games and he is worthless in both.
