Wall management at ceremonial free kicks. How to avoid problems with players trying to come closer than 9.15 metres or players to take the ball to fast? Most important advice: always keep an eye on the ball. Good example where referees could learn from is the situation last weekend in Russion football competition. Referee Eugene Turbin gave a free kick just outside the penalty area to Zenit St. Petersburg in the match against Volga Nizhny Novgorod. The referee showed his whistle to signal that the free kick can be taken after the whistle. Hulk from Zenit was holding the ball and was about to place it on the ground when…

Headbutting a teammate in Ukrainian football
The Laws of the Game cover lots of topics you think they might not happen in a football match. So is headbutting a teammate. This might be rare, but it happened in Ukraine this week. Volodymyr Lysenko from football club Hoverla Uzhhorod in Ukraine was angry at his teammate Mirko Raicevic and gives him a headbutt. He gets a red card for it by the referee. The face of their manager says enough. Check out the video below. In this situation the ball was out of play. A LATG question for you: How should play restart if the ball was in play at the moment a player headbutts a teammate?
