Guy Ramos grabs opponents balls
Guy Ramos, a Roda JC player, grabbed the crotch of his opponent Aron Johansson. The referee missed the situation in the Dutch Eredivisie match, but the camera’s in the stadium caught it (of course) on tape. If you’d have seen it, would you give a red card for that? Watch the video of Guy Ramos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoAmukBtfpw Is the video also available in your country? If not: below I’ve added a photo of the situation.

Robot referee launched by Betfair
Betfair launches a robot referee. “No longer will referee miss key decisions on the pitch”, says a robotics engineer. The video is just published on YouTube, a bit late for April Fools’ Day, but it got me thinking about the future of refereeing. What technology could help football referees? The hawk-eye system, a video referee or what could a Google Glass mean for referees? I’d love to hear from you how you see the future of football refereeing. Share your thoughts, that could lead to a good new article about the possibilities and wishes of referees. Check the video below with the robot referee who recognizes players and can give…

I must admit I looked up at the clock a lot more often than usual in those final ten minutes.” The Bundesliga YouTube channel also wrote statement about it:…

Yellow card relinguished so ref could only give red
Yellow card relinguished by Argentine referee Carlos Maglio. He gave it to the fourth official so everyone could see it. Maglio already booked eight players at that moment in a friendly between Argentine rivals Estudiantes and Gimnasia. The players were not getting the message, so he wanted to make something clear to them. And indeed, the first card Maglio gave to a player was a red card. “Retiring the yellow was a spur of the moment decision. I had already booked eight players and I didn’t want them to keep on hitting each other,” Maglio told La Red radio. “The fourth official asked me to give it to him so…
