New referee kits for season 2012/2013: Spain

    4 September, 2012 / No Comments

Football referees on national top level will all appear in their new outfit the next weeks. Brands made all some new referee kits for the 2012/2013 season. Spanish referees are also wearing Adidas kits, sponsored by Würth. “We are happy with this because the brand is inside the field in every game of the Spanish League no matter what teams are playing”, says a spokesperson from the sponsor. “[Sponsoring referees] is good for a premium brand as we are.”

New referee kits for season 2012/2013: Scotland

    22 August, 2012 / No Comments

Football referees on national top level will all appear in their new outfit the next weeks. Brands made all some new referee kits for the 2012/2013 season. The Scottish referees will use the Adidas Euro 2012 referee kits, like the German Schiedsrichter. German referees posed with the traditional black kit, but I kind of like the yellow and silver ones from the Scottish FA, sponsored by Specsavers.

New referee kits for season 2012/2013: England

    16 August, 2012 / No Comments

Football referees on national top level will all appear in their new outfit the next weeks. Brands made all some new referee kits for the 2012/2013 season. Earlier this week Expedia announced a new deal as sponsor for several UK soccer competitions. “We’re proud to be the new sponsors of match officials”, said Andrew Warner, senior marketing director of Expedia EMEA, to sportspromedia.com. “As the world’s largest online travel agent it seemed logical to associate with a sport that has a truly global audience.” Referees will use the Umbro Diamond kit. The British Premier League starts next weekend.

New referee kits for season 2012/2013: Netherlands and France

    8 August, 2012 / 5 Comments

Football referees on national top level will all appear in their new outfit the next weeks. Brands made all some new referee kits for the 2012/2013 season. Willy Loos, a sports shop in Groningen, has published some photo’s of the new Nike referee kit. Nike is supplier for the Dutch and French national referees. I’m not sure whether referees dare to wear one colour during the season. Björn Kuipers played it safe during last weekend’s Dutch Supercup with a grey shirt and black short and socks. I’m still a bit surprised by the vertical zipper. You can also follow The Dutch Referee Blog on Facebook by liking the page: The…

    2 August, 2012 / 8 Comments

Football referees on national top level will all appear in their new outfit the next weeks. Brands made all some new referee kits for the 2012/2013 season. First on this blog: the German top referees will all be dressed in the Euro 2012 Adidas outfits, sponsored by DEKRA, a comany ‘providing safety, quality and environmental protection across many sectors’, as their website says. If you know the new referee kit in your country, please let me know. Referees are Peter Gagelmann (Bundesliga) and Benjamin Cortus (2nd Liga).
