Algarve Cup referees announced

Fifa has announced the Algarve Cup referees. The Algarve Cup is a global invitational tournament for women’s national teams. The cup is organised by the Portuguese Football Federation and according to Fifa an important tournament in preparation of the Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014 and the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015. The Algarve Cup 2014 takes place between 5 and 12 March 2014.

Two referees from Romania are selected: Teodora Albon and Cristina Dorcioman. Few months back I blog “Romanian women’s refereeing is in the lift”.

The selected referees are (per continent)

Asia (AFC): Rita Gani (Malaysia), Casey Reibelt (Australia), Jia Wang (China).
Africa: (CAF): Therese Raissa Neguel (Cameroon)
North-America (CONCACAF): Melissa Paola Borjas Pastrana (Honduras) and Sheena Dickson (Canada).
South-America (Conmebol): Yeimy Lucero Martinez Valverde (Colombia) and Olga Marilin Miranda Vilarreal (Paraguay)
Europe (Uefa): Teodora Albon (Romania), Cristina Dorcioman (Romania), Stephanie Frappart (France), Riem Hussein (Germany) and Efthalia Mitsi (Greece).

One Dutch assistent referee has been chosen: Nicolet Bakker.
